"Les droits de l'homme en Géorgie aujourd'hui"

Avec Emil Adelkhanov , Chercheur à l'Institut Caucasien pour la Paix, la Démocratie et le Développement (CIPDD) basé à Tbilissi (Géorgie).


Il nous parlera de la situation des droits de l'homme et des minorités en Géorgie, ainsi que de la situation des Géorgiens refoulés de Russie.

Emil Adelkhanov (AKA Emanuel Steinberg), editor of the electronic bulletin Religion, State and Society (in Georgian) – a monthly review of the Georgian press, both secular and ecclesiastic.

He has worked with the Georgian NGO Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development since 1992, monitoring human rights problems and informing international organizations about human rights violations (in particular, editing a weekly digest of Georgian media news concerning human rights violations in1996-2000 and a printed journal Media Caucasica, covering the human rights problems of the three Transcaucasian countries in 1998-2000). In 2000-2004 he was a member of the Independent Council of Public Oversight of the Ministry of Justice, monitoring the imprisonment conditions.

Currently, he is also working as an editor for the web site of the Moscow-based Centre for Journalism in Extreme Situations, www.pankisi.info, covering the problems of Georgian-Russian relations.

At the Soviet times, he was a zealous spreader of Samizdat literature and a Georgian correspondent of the Samizdat bulletin Khronika Tekushchikh Sobytiy (The Chronicle of Current Events), created and managed a fund to help political prisoners.
